Iraqi PM Excellence in Two Provinces
Liputan6.com, Baghdad: recent elections held in Iraq, now beginning to show results temporarily. Committee election monitors in Iraq announced that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki won in two Shiite provinces of southern Iraq.
Announcement made the High Commission of the State Independent Electoral Law, Thursday (11 / 3) shows the political coalition led by al-Maliki ahead in Babil province about 14 thousand votes and the province of Najaf with 7000 votes.
Results are calculated only about a third of the votes in each of two provinces in southern Iraq. Results for the other provinces are still under calculation and has not been released.
Previously said Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki have undergone surgery at Medical City Hospital, which is the largest hospital in Iraq and is now in good health. He had been allowed to go home.
Written in a statement from the office of the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki has come out of the hospital, and is in good condition. He also has continued his duties. Unfortunately that statement does not tell details about the operation and how long al-Maliki was hospitalized.
Adviser Yassin Majid, told the Associated Press said that the operation was "simple" but refused to explain, as reported by the Associated Press. Currently Shia leaders hope to keep his job after parliamentary elections on March 7. (RST / ADO)
