Jordan king: Israel Threatens Possible Actions for Peace

Amman (ANTARA News / Xinhua-OANA) - King Abdullah II of Jordan, Thursday, said the continuing provocative Israeli actions endanger the opportunity to realize peace and threatening the outbreak of a new round of rioting back in the area, according to official Jordanian news agency, Petra.

It is important that Israel immediately stop actions that threaten sepihaknya opportunity for peace, especially the construction of settlements and actions that attempt to change the identity of Jerusalem, King Abdullah II said during talks with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who was visiting.

At the meeting, the King reiterated Jordan's condemnation of Israel to build new homes in settlements in East Jerusalem, and emphasize the important role the United States in the Middle East peace.

Jordanian leaders say wasting the opportunity that is in hand to achieve peace will make the region through a new cycle of conflict and unrest.

Discussions between the two sides also covers how to overcome barriers to restart peace talks with the Palestinians jammed.

They also mengakaji Biden's visit to the Palestinian territories and Israel, where he met with Palestinian leaders and Israel to advance the peace process.
