Media Threatens Social Networking Sites

Liputan6.com, Pasuruan: The presence of social media, ranging from Facebook, Blogger, Twitter is a threat to the existence of a journalist who worked in the media, both print journalists, online, or television. Therefore, journalists must continue to improve the capacity and ability to be more professional. This was revealed by Executive Director Dr. Soetomo Press Institute (LPDS) Priyambodo RH journalism workshop in Taman Dayu Pasuruan, East Java, Saturday (17 / 4).

"If journalists are not really in a position to work naturally, if taken over by social media," explained Priyambodo who is also chairman of the Center for Multimedia PWI.

He explained that the standard of competence or income reporters are supposed to be feasible. Should at least be on the UMK, he said, because the work is intellectual work that journalists should be distinguished from other workers.

"Journalists must be labor-intensive work and solid ideas," said Priyambodo. "Journalists must not stop writing to only count on a paycheck."

The workshop was followed by around 35 journalists from Bojonegoro, Tuban, Blora, Jombang, Mojokerto and Surabaya was, took place on 16 to 18 April 2010. (Ant / TEST / SHA)

    Social networking site is creating a lot of uneasiness among many journalist from media like print, video etc., social networking sites are sharing information free of cost and many of the people have reduce their dependency on other media to get info about current activities around the world.
