Liputan6.com, Jiegu: Thousands of people killed by the quake buried en masse in the region Jiegu, China by way of cremation, Saturday (17 / 4). Funeral conducted the monks using religious traditions of Buddhism. For most of the victims are ethnic Tibetans who live in the City Jiegu, the area worst hit by the earthquake. Having wrapped in blankets and covered evenly with the wood, the victims were cremated en masse.

Cremation of the body also aims to prevent the spread of germs in the earthquake affected areas. The government says at least 1144 people were killed, 417 missing and 11,744 injured in an earthquake measuring 7.1 Richter scale in southwestern China. This amount is expected to rise over the evacuation process that continues to be done on the ruins of buildings that collapsed due to earthquake. (FRI)
