Thai Government: Military Operation Successfully, 4 Killed

Liputan6.com, Bangkok: The Thai government claimed success in military operations against the Red Shirt protesters on Wednesday (19 / 5). A Thai government spokesman said that several leaders of the Red Shirt has now fled the area in protest.

However, one of the Red Shirt leader vowed to continue fighting the government. Nutthawut Saikua appeared in the midst of a clash in Ratchaprasong before noon, said he would not flee and will continue to fight, in many ways, and not just in Bangkok.

Ratchaprasong Thai troops invaded in the early morning to disperse anti-government protesters. Just before noon, Erawan Emergency Medical Center reported four people had died in the clashes, including a foreign journalist from Italy [read: Italian Journalist Killed in Clashes].
