Shanghai (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Floods and landslides across southern China killed at least 69 people and 44 others missing in this week, Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.
Torrential rains triggered flash floods that flushed, interruption of traffic and telecommunications across south China, and forced the evacuation of 493 000 people, he said.
The worst torrential rains also hit the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan and Guizhou, and Guangxi autonomous regions.
Economic damage in that area to cause losses 6.5 billion yuan (952 million dollars).
Just a few months ago, part of the area west of the country also experienced the worst torrential rains in the last century.
