Liputan6.com, Patna: At least 24 people were killed and 50 others wounded, due to a crowded bus collided with a truck in eastern India, Saturday (26 / 6). Amit Kumar Jain senior police officer said the 21 victims died on the spot, while three others died on the way to hospital. Meanwhile 24 other men were currently in critical condition.

Fateful bus load of about 75 passengers, including several people perched on rooftops. On the journey, the bus driver lost control on a sharp bend near the market in Dhanarua Village, 35 kilometers from Patna, Bihar.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), the death rate in each of its annual road toll in India is the highest in the world. That's because drivers often speeding, careless, damaged roads, poor vehicle maintenance, and carry passengers beyond capacity. (AFP / ADO)
