Cilacap Twice Hit by Earthquake
Cilacap (AFP) - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, Friday night, twice rocked of Cilacap, Central Java.
Head of Geophysics Station Climatology Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Banjarnegara, Lani Ahmad, when contacted AFP from Cilacap, said that the earthquake occurred at 22:12:40 pm and 22:32:07 pm GMT.
"The strength of an earthquake the same, namely 5.2 SR. The first earthquake is located at 9.72 south latitude to 108.08 east longitude or 244 kilometers southwest of Cilacap, with a depth of 10 kilometers," he said.
While the second quake, he said, is located at 9.77 south latitude to 108.06 east longitude or 250 kilometers southwest of Cilacap with a depth of 15 kilometers.
According to him, the quake caused no tsunami potential.
Meanwhile, officers picket Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Cilacap District, when contacted BETWEEN Zainal said it did not receive reports of damage from the earthquake.
"We also did not receive reports of residents who felt the earthquake shocks," he said.
