Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (NOA) will be modeled on a tree adoption program to save the coastal areas with mangrove adoption.

"The program of rehabilitation of coastal areas can not be simply done by the government. Caring communities, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), private sectors is also very important," said Director General of Marine Coastal and Small Islands (KP3K), Sudirman Saad, in Jakarta on Thursday.

Although coastal rehabilitation through planting of mangrove nonstructural like it takes up too large, such as reclamation costs, but according to Sudirman, the cost to grow a community care to care for the coastal mangrove become larger.
