Liverpool Benitez On Compensation Offer
London (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez would be offered compensation amounting to three million pounds (4.39 million U.S. dollars) to withdraw from the English Premier League club, according to British media reports Thursday.
Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon, was quoted by the BBC (www.bbc.co.uk) said he would talk with the coach from the Spanish.
Benitez joined the club in 2004 and took Liverpool to win the 2005 Champions League and the FA Cup a year later.
But, he kept the pressure on Liverpool, which occupies the seventh position in the Premier League standings last season.
50-year-old coach was linked with a move to Juventus and Inter Milan, but last month he intends to complete the contract at Liverpool that ended in 2014.
