Opportunities in Bada Still Very Open

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - While still new, the emergence of Bada, the smartphone platform of the Samsung should be a great opportunity for local developers in Indonesia to mamanfaatkannya. Pambudi Sudirman Said, Application Manager for Samsung Mobile Indonesia as they are introduced in the Bada Bada Developer Day in Jakarta on Wednesday (06/30/2010).

"Indonesia has great potential to create applications not only for local needs but also to the whole world," said Pambudi in front of about 100 people who attended at the JW Marriott Hotel, Jakarta. In the event that was held together with Chip Magazine, Samsung demonstrated the benefits of Bada and guidance for software developers who want to make the application.

Bada is a smartphone platform developed by Samsung for the mobile phone homemade. This platform is open so that anyone can contribute to create applications and distribute them through stores online application provided Samsung. Currently only one type of cell phone use on the market that Samsung Bada Wave. However, Samsung will continue to add Bada-based handset for both top and lower middle class.

"Bada App Store will reach more than 80 countries in this year 2010. To support the level of our competition, Bada-based target devices will reach 10 million units by the end of 2010 and 20 million units in 2011," continued Pambudi.

According to him, compared to Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian, or iPhone, Bada was still new so not many applications that support. Yet, exactly this is an opportunity for local developers to steal Indonesia start earlier. Of the 80 countries that will reach Bada, only 30 countries that were targeted did Bada Developer Day and Indonesia for the first time one of them.
