PLN Request Coordinating Minister for Economy Work on Tariff Structure

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa asked the state electricity company to fix the electricity tariff structure, mainly related to maximum power and multipurpose.

"I ask that this be addressed first, so that later came out figures for multipurpose and maximum power forward that we eliminate," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday.

According to Hatta, for maximum power and multi-use is the variable that represents the authority of the State Electricity Company (PLN), then it is handed over to PLN.

"These people must be addressed, discussed, not because there is this factor resulted in some of our industry experienced an increase (TDL) above 40 percent, but there is also the industry has decreased below 40 percent," he said.

He explained that the maximum power and versatile it really is because of incentives and disincentives for electric power is not sufficient.

Therefore, he said, it is not necessary if electricity demand will be sufficient.

"Now the future should it no longer needed. These people must be addressed, not his TDL, if TDL already fix (definitely) of the Act," he said.

Previously among the businessmen asked the government to postpone the application of the rules concerning the basic tariff increase of electricity (TDL) because they think the amount is much greater than previously promised.
