Meningitis Vaccine Distributes Kemenkes Start Next Week
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Health will begin to channel the meningitis vaccine for pilgrims next week or second week in July.
"Next week already distributed. Administered vary at each clinic," said Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih Minister of Health in Jakarta, Monday.
Distribution of meningitis vaccine is still being done amid controversy fatwa haram Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to these vaccines because they contain pork media in its formation.
Menkes called it using the emergency fatwa issued by MUI had the disease, including meningitis, a dangerous and deadly disease for the pilgrims.
Last year, MUI allows the use of the vaccine because of emergency conditions for the conduct of worship obligatory but notes that Kemenkes must find alternative vaccines are halal.
Minister of Religious Affairs has also allowed Suryadharma Ali meningitis vaccine for pilgrims because there are no other alternatives, although this is still a polemic issue in the community.
Meningitis vaccine is given free of charge to prospective pilgrims and umra for fear of contracting the disease from pilgrims from other countries.
