Electricity Tariffs Rise 10 Percent
Liputan6.com, Jakarta: Plenary Session of Parliament finally accepted the State Budget Changes (APBN-P) in 2010. The Government stated that economic growth was 5.8 percent and inflation rate of 5.3 percent.
Nonetheless, the government and parliament would still raise the basic electricity tariff (TDL) of ten percent. Meanwhile, the House Budget Committee chairman Harry Azhar Aziz said the government hopes to consider a majority fraction of the electricity subsidy allocations more equitable.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Hatta Rajasa said granting the subsidies, including for the TDL is based on the map needs of the community.
The increase in TDL simply can not be avoided. However, the community hopes this increase followed an optimal service improvement and no more blackouts in some areas. (WIL / ANS)
